This story is very near and dear to my heart. I grew up watching the movie on repeat and when I found out it was a book as a teen, I was ecstatic. And the story only grows better with age for me. Something about it just speaks to my heart and it makes me incredibly happy. I do have to admit though, this is one of the very rare cases where I enjoy the movie more than the book.
