Commentary Supposing Books The Pretender

France 2000: Two babies are born on the same day just two hours apart - but to very different lives. Isabella is a Princess and heir to the French throne, while Sophia is born into a life of poverty and abuse at the hands of her father. At the age of 18, Sophia runs away from home. That same night, Isabella is also fleeing from the burden of her royal life when she finds Sophia slumped at the palace gates. Amazed by how alike they look, Isabella proposes a daring plot - to exchange their lives for one week. ‘The Pretender’ is an emotionally intense and compelling story of friendship, love and the strange power of destiny.

Judge Appertaining To Books The Pretender
The Pretender is the first novel from new author Katie Ward, I hope, and I am sure, this will not be the last! This is a beautiful re-telling of The Prince and the Pauper, only set in modern day and being a swap between a princess and a destitute young lady. As such, this is a marvelous book for young adults, and girls especially are going to fall in love with it, as I did myself, I can see it becoming a classic, and a treasured book for many young girls. This is a beautiful read, I really

I was a little apprehensive about this book turning out to be just another cliché but thankfully, was pleasantly surprised. The Prince and the Pauper has always been among the classics that I truly cherish and having one written along its line only fascinated me more. I had come across similar books and movies, some of which disappointed me with their lack of originality. The Pretender is an absolutely apt title for the story which revolves around these two girls who are just unsatisfied with

Incredible unique story. Loved it! Jewel you were right about this amazing book! Thanks!

The cover is just beautiful and I loved the book a lot it. Overall the theme of friendship and family is amazing. Both the characters of Isabella and Sofia are so well developed that each plays an important role in taking up a lot of space in your heart and after the book is over I was very happy and satisfied with the ending. While the author was talking about Isabella who hailed from palaces she was preety good at depicting Sophia Lazarus who escaped abusive childhood. It was wonderful to see

4☆ Enchanting Warm ReadThe Pretender is an enchanting warm read.I love the cover it's simply gorgeous.Sophia has just turned 18, set to leave Boarding School to return home. Most children can't wait to get home, but Sophia is the opposite. Her Dad is violently abusive to her and her sister. She had an awful childhood and suffered terrible abuse. Princess Isabella is also turning 18 on the same day. She is a real Princess with the life of luxury. But she isn't happy. She longs for a touch of

I love a modern twist on classics, but an author has to be careful to make the retelling their own, and Katie Ward definitely made this book her own. Its an adaptation of The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain, and Ward added her own flair to it to make it completely original.Sophia and Isabella were born into two different worlds. Both feel trapped in their lives but for very, very different reasons. Sophie feels trapped by her abusive and neglectful parents, not knowing how she will ever
